Horror RPG Marathon (2) - Mad Father

Hiii~~~

OMG I didn't upload for the longest time ever... Haha! Holly uploaded 1 day earlier than me -3-.

Anyways, I haven't been really busy, like always :P but I guess I have been putting off updating this blog for the longest time everrr~~... Anyways, it's not like I have anything interesting to share, but anyways, since I have time to upload today, I shall take the chance to do so. Yup!

So anyways, back to the topic, I'm supposed to be updating about my Horror RPG game marathon. LOL I still remember everything okays?

Just in case the future me forgets about the game itself, I shall remind her. For all those people who don't want spoilers.... erm... Too bad! This post is about the game itself, so don't you even think about the possibility of having censored spoilers.

Anyway, Mad Father is probably one of the most twisted games I have played in my life. I mean, I haven't even played that much games, but it is damn creepy, like, WTF kind of creepy. You get it? Like close to mindfuck, but in a different way.

Since you've read this far, I guess you're not bothered about the spoilers. :P That's good. You're just like me! Congratz!

So, when you start playing the game, you are in a huge (and boy, do I mean huge) house. The intro starts off by showing a young pretty and sweet-looking girl standing outside her father's laboratory. And yes, her father's a scientist. Apparently, the girl (you) is feeling very uneasy and she couldn't go to sleep. Her father comes out of the laboratory and reassures the girl that whatever uneasiness she is feeling should be tossed away and he told her not to worry. The girl hesitates. The father added in, "Aya, we'll go visit your mother's grave tomorrow." Okay, so it seems that the girl's mother passed away. Not too long ago too. The girl smiles, finally reassured, and then hurries off to her room to go to sleep. When she leaves, she hears the sound of a chainsaw activated, and something being destroyed, highly likely by the chainsaw. Talk about creepy.... Goshhh

That wasn't even the scary part, ya know? You know what happened next? HUH?! The scene changes to a scene inside the laboratory. The father was in the laboratory with a young lady, by the name of Maria. Erm... Maria isn't exactly the most appealing character and I must say she looked really creepy, especially her eyes. The father said, "Come here, Maria..."

Maria walks over...
And I think she jumped into the arms of the father. *tsk tsk
Father: "You must take care of Aya for me."
Maria: "But I don't think she likes me, doctor..."
Father: "No matter. She must remain safe. After all, she is my most precious..."

Hehe. After reading that conversation, if you're thinking something's already wrong like I did, good job! Anyway, back to Aya (the little girl, aka you). She's in her room like any good girl. The midnight bell sounds and suddenly she hears sounds from outside. Cliche, huh?

Anyway, this part is very long, so I don't want to talk much about it. Basically, it's about hearing noises and going out to check out what's wrong. Heh. Smart move~ Not! That it, until, Aya hears her father's scream. So, that's the end of the intro! Yay~ Finally got rid of the super long intro. So, here comes the gameplay. Like any RPG game, there are tons of jumpscares that scare the shit out of you, just like Ib. However, this is more extreme as you have zombies chasing after you. And these zombies all have something in common. They somehow have something taken away from them, be it a limb or eyes, etc. So, they're chasing you around and basically, you have a life bar and you die, when well, it depletes to zero. Haha. But the good thing is, it replenishes itself. Okay, the first few parts are creepy, but not so scary. You wander around the house, the main hall, archives, basically any room that you can access. Here's the freaking jumpscare that made my heart stop, almost. At one point, you have nothing left to obtain, so you just I just walked into all the rooms all over again and try to figure out the next move. Heh. I went back to Aya's room and there was this lady staring out the window. Hmm... harmless, right? Yeah, until you get closer, that is. She turned around and her face was stained with blood. Her face wasn't the creepiest thing per se, but it was the sound effects that followed through. As she turned around, there was this high pitches scream that seemed to sound as if there was an explosion. Heh. Lesson learnt: Do not play horror games alone, at night, in a dead silent room, even if you're in an air-conditioned room.

Oh yes, and allow me to introduce this sweet guy. I can't exactly remember what his name is, since they never did mention it in the game; it was a fanmade name. Anyway, he's really sweet and he's saved Aya so many times. Even from the beginning of the game, he appeared, though not in the most presentable form possible. Well, as I've said before, all the zombies have something taken away from them and this sweet boy had his right eye taken away, so it was this hollow space that initially freaked out our heroine. Since then, she didn't see him until he appeared to save Aya.

Anyway, the rest of the game is up to you to play. I mean, you've got to experience all the jumpscares and the sense of satisfaction when you manage to lock and trap this mega fast zombie. OMG that was the most heart-stopping moment in the game. You have to choose your steps wisely to a door because if you take 1 step more, you risk getting killed by the zombie. So, you have to come out somehow and shut the same door behind you to trap the zombie. Hah! I don't even how many times I replayed that scene! Thank goodness for Crow-kun! Anyways, Crow-kun, as Pewdiepie calls him, is a crow that appears habitually throughout the game and serves as a save point. Lesson learnt 2: Always save, wherever you go, whatever you do. Whenever you see crow-kun, just walk to him. Hah!

Moving on, here's the ending. I bet this is what you're looking forward to the most, whoever you are. LOL, Holly, I've told you this before, but I haven't been that in depth. :)

Basically what happens towards the end is that you, playing as Aya, have finished wandering around the house and you end up at this place that seems to house a portal to another dimension. A guy named Ogre which Aya has met in the beginning of the game, asked her if she wished to proceed to the other dimension to save her parents. (Dont' ask, I'll explain later) He gave her a vial of liquid, called "Magic Water" and he said that the liquid could save her father. Aya said that she would proceed to save her father. So whoosh, she went through the portal.

In the other dimension, she saw her mother and father. Well, except that her mother wasn't what she used to be. She was already dead, but she managed to come back into the world and she was the one responsible for all the weird happenings in the house, and the one who dragged Aya's father into the other dimension. From there on, you have the choice of saving your mother or your father.

If you save your mother, there will only be one ending, and that is the bad ending. Basically, you used the water to save your mother and she fulfilled her own wish of taking her father together to wherever she is going to. Presumably, that's either heaven or hell. When you go back to your normal world, you are alone. Your mother is dead and your father is dragged along with her. As you make your way to the main building of your house, you meet with Maria and Maria is pain-stricken with the fact that the "doctor" is never coming back. Maria mourns for Aya's father and while Aya was leaving since she no longer has business with that house, Maria lunges at Aya and knocks her unconscious. Aya is last seen on the experimental bed [?] and Maria says, "Doctor, I shall your fulfil your last wish." And then, the game ends. Dun Dun...

Of you choose to save your father, there will either be the bad ending or the good ending. So, you and your father go back to your world. As you awake, you find yourself in one of your father's labs. You were happy to be able to save your father, but your mother's soul comes into sight. She uses the last bit of her power to show you the truth.

The Truth

This is the truth. Let's talk about Aya's father. As said before, Aya's father is a scientist, but he is not a normal scientist. He doesn't do research for the benefit of others. He collects human live specimens to obtain their body parts (which explains why the zombies had a part of them missing, because they were once his test subjects). They are all for his research which is a quest to preserve a human's beauty. Since humans are mortal, he wants to find a way to preserve their beauty forever. And what better thing is there that doesn't fade away than a doll? Therefore, his research all along has been to create dolls. No one knows whether the soul still remains when the person is turned into a doll. This twisted mindset followed him through his life, beginning when he was only a child. As read from his diary in the game, Aya's father used to capture birds and kill them and he would hide the corpses in his drawers when his mother was out. This twisted mindset drove him to such insanity that caused him to kill his own mother.

Moving on, let's talk about Maria. Maria used to be a poor, starving begger girl on the streets. She was cold and hungry and one day, Aya's father found her on the streets. He thought to himself that it was such a pity for such a fine specimen to die off in the cold and fall victim to hunger. Therefore, he took her in and fed her and gave her clothes. He locked her in a cell where he houses all the live specimens. Maria happened to be locked with a very sick boy who had a serious open wound. She was frantic and wanted to save the boy. She took care of the boy, helped him heal his wounds and when the doctor came to check on the sick boy, he was surprised at how much he recovered. He inferred that Maria was very good in medical aid and would be very useful as his assistant. Since the doctor treated Maria like she was important, Maria fell in love with the doctor, even though he already had a wife and daughter.

Finally, let's talk about Aya's mother. Aya's mother was very sick and weak some time before her death. She loved Aya's father very deeply. However, she became very suspicious and angry that he was spending too much time with Maria. She thought of Maria as someone he "picked up from the streets". One day, in front of the laboratory door, Aya's mother overheard Aya's father talking to Maria about turning Aya into a doll. Yes, a doll. He wanted to preserve Aya's beauty for ever. Now can you guess?

Father: "No matter. She must remain safe. After all, she is my most precious...

.

.

.

.

.

.

doll."

Naturally, Aya's mother was very angry that he could do such a thing to their daughter. She stormed into the laboratory and confronted Aya's father. Aya's father did not want to listen and said something along the lines of not letting her getting into his way and eventually killing her by strangling her. He told Maria to keep the murder a secret and to tell Aya that her mother died because of her illness.

And that was the truth that Aya's mother showed her with the last of her power. Aya was brought to her senses and backed away from her father. She bumped into a huge glass container draped over with a large piece of cloth. The piece of cloth fell off and inside the glass container was a body that was scientifically created by Aya's father that resembled Aya's mother. Aya was scared and her father realised that she knew the truth. He did not bother trying to hide the fact that he wished to turn her into a doll. He even asked her what dress she would like to wear when she became a doll.

Thus, Aya ran away, while her father chased after her with his trademark chainsaw, saying, "アーヤー.... どこにいるのかな..." Aya~~ doko ni iru no ka na? (Aya, where are you~?) Basically you run away from him. To get the good ending, you go to Maria's room and read her diary. Then she will save you just in time when mad scientist caught up with you and was about to kill you. If you did not do that, Maria will not save you and you will die, rather to be more specific, turned into a doll.

If you manage to get the good ending, the sweet boy from before makes an appearance again. This time, he tells you that he has to burn the house down so as to ensure that things like that do not happen again. Aya understands and he kisses Aya's forehead (Kyaaa~) and says, "May you be smiled upon." Apparently, that is a small "magic trick" that Aya's mother used to use when Aya was sad. Then, Aya and Maria run away from the burning house. The sweet boy asks for a favour, and that is to remember him, and all he people who have suffered in the hands of her father. All of those people have existed once in life before, only to be ruined by her father. Most of them do not have relatives and if even Aya forgets them, they will be forgotten forever.

While running away from the burning house, Aya finds a book on the ground. She picks it up, and according to sources, it was the book that Aya did not dare read when she was a child because it had disgusting images. It turns out to be the book that Aya's father read that taught him how to turn people into dolls...

A few years later, Maria and Aya go to a rural area and set up a clinic that offers patients free check-ups. At their door was a young girl with beautiful eyes who was apparently sick enough to have her doctors lose faith in her recovery. Since Aya does not charge her patients any money in check-ups, she welcomes the girl into her clinic. The girl lies on the examination bed and closes her eyes. Aya comments that she has very beautiful eyes and gives the girl an injection. Then, the camera focuses on Maria which was at a corner room in the clinic.

She said, "It seems, doctor, that Aya has turned out like you. I presume it runs in the family..."

About what happened, I will leave it to you decide and infer for yourself, though it is quite obvious. And as a side note, the man named Ogre was seen talking to the fallen father. He asked him if he wanted to come along with him, and that he (Ogre) would provide him all the resources to continue his research. Heh. So much for being a good guy that allowed Aya to save one of her parents...

Finally, at a bonus scene, it is revealed that Aya's father has indeed continued his research under Ogre. He scientifically created a body similar to Aya's... and that she will be brought into the world soon...

Hmm... If you ask me for my thoughts... I would say that this is a relatively good game, except that the good ending... is not that good after all. Unlike Ib which I have played before, this game offers no true happy ending, while in Ib, you get endings like a promised reunion with Garry. In this game, however, it is enchantingly dark. It has all the elements to make you feel the loss and the de ja vu and the sinking feeling that hope is all lost when you see the grown up Aya turn out to be like her father. There, I said it. She turned out like her father and ended up as a killer who turned people into dolls. Hng!! Besides, it kinda gets you yearning for more, especially when you are not happy with the ending. You want to know what happens, and this aptly guides the players to the sequel, Misao. Equally haunting, the sequel is not to be missed. I shall add in that this is also rather psychological. To think that Aya is a young girl, yet she gets over her fear quickly... Quickly enough to ignore all the zombies, and mature enough to forgive Maria and understand her love for the doctor. On the way, she meets up with many people: a girl without eyes, a discriminated zombie boy, a man who could not find his head etc. But was it pure love for her father that spurred her on to continue on her quest to save her father? Or was it that from the start, Aya was destined to become like her father, not daunted by things we would consider scary, and eventually taking a liking to them. Hmm... Another game created by another genius in his own way... This game leaves you hanging, like you know... the kind of void you feel in your heart after you've been in a really good story and suddenly you realise you finished it? Yes, Mad Father is the kind of game. Don't just see the surface, see what's beyond it. That way, you will feel even more like I do. Sure, the game's obvious aspects at the surface are daunting, but what's more mysterious and nerve-wrecking is the game's psychological aspect.

Anyways, here are some pictures.

Here's the sweet boy. He was helping her from the start.

Our dear heroine, Aya.

Not sure if this is the original image, but here's a picture of Aya as a doll.

One of the scenes from Mad Father.

Aya's father, aka Doctor or Mad Father.

This was when he turned bonkers and chased Aya around with the trademark chainsaw.
アーヤー.... どこにいるのかな....
Aya... doko ni iru no ka na...
Aya... Where are you...?

This b**ch of a doll had to stop Aya for the doctor to kill her.
COME BE WITH US...

Hardy har har... This is Maria. Am I the only one who thinks she looks scary?

This is when Maria was found on the streets.

This is Aya's mother.

This was when she came back as a spirit or something along that line.

Poor Aya reaches out for her mother...

"May you be smiled upon..."

Confession time...

This. Is. What. I'm. Talking. About.

I hope you're interested in playing this game! This is one of he few games which the Mac version was released for. So, for Mac users, you have hope! Of course, Windows players can play too...

Horror RPG Marathon (1) - Ib

Hey Hey

The holidays are ending soon with only 1 week left to go. :( Anyways, I've set out to play some Horror RPG (Role Playing Games) games and they are really a good way to pass time and have fun as well as scare the shit out of you. Anyway, Holly recently posted something super duper emotional and sappy in a post talking about relationships. Haha! What a love doctor. Hmm... Was 'Imma Love Doctor' the title of the post? I think so...

Anyway, this can get quite long and boring and emotional and whatever I'm feeling right now. I'm sure at one point in your life, you've watched PewDiePie's videos... No? Well, shame on you. Pewds is awesome! Thinking about it, I might as well become a fellow bro. :D Anyways, Pewds plays many games and posts them on YouTube and I watch some of them, well RPGs mostly because I don't like games like Amnesia which are too life-like and too gory and whatever. So, I basically downloaded quite a number of games that can be downloaded (LOL) and tried to play them. And yes, as much as I'd like to say otherwise, Apple is a stubborn and spoilt bitch. It takes so much work to download external softwares to play Windows games and some don't even work. Geezers, I downloaded like, Crossover, Winebottler etc. and so far only Crossover works. Therefore, I decided, enough is enough! Mirai disapproves of games with no Mac versions! Oh pish posh, who am I kidding? The best games are only available on Windows.... including my otome games. :(

Anyways, shit I'm getting out of topic. Haizz... Excuse me... *Mentally pictures Holly staring back with a "You are excused" face. HAHA* I downloaded the games: Ib, Mad Father, Misao and The Witch's House.

I've played Ib before, last year to be exact. I went over to a friend's house and we spent hours creeping ourselves out trying to play Ib and get all the endings, lol. Ib has a marvellous plot, characters and although RGP maker is probably not the best software out there to make RPGs since they come up like totally pixelised crap, it still works. :D I'll tell you why I love it so much. Brace yourself, spoilers up ahead and totally long paragraph(s) coming up...

Ib starts off with an innocent and harmless plot. It's about a girl, Ib, of about age 10 (I'm not too sure about the age... and unfortunately was too lazy to find out. :P) and her parents going to an art museum for an outing. Heh. Who thinks museums are scary? Well, you'd be doomed if you're Ib. Anyway, Ib wanders around the museum, and accidentally finds a large mural of a dark world. Well, she tries (ermm... the player) tries to go back to the area of the museum where it was more crowded, only to find that all the people have vanished and there isn't even any music playing in the background. =.= Only your footsteps... So, you have no choice but to jump down this realistic street art (you know? The awesome ones you find in 9gag? :D) of water and you enter this world. You walk around to discover that while you walk away from the entrance, it vanishes when you try to find it... You have no way out. You have to go on.

Anyway, that's the starting. It hasn't ended, peeps. Ib finds a red rose that shall accompany her for the rest of her journey in the dark world. The rose becomes her life force. When all the petals fall out (her rose has 5 petals) she dies and it's game over. There are vases along the way that she can put the rose in to make the rose "recover". The game is mostly scary due to its graphics (things like dolls and moving paintings) and the heart-stopping jump scares, e.g. the vase falling off when you walk past it etc. Anyway, now to the emo part.

As we all know, Ib is just a young girl. Imagine yourself as Ib, young and defenseless and going through all this shit and paintings chasing you and whatever. Seriously, who wants that kind of adventure? It doesn't help that you can get trapped in the dark world forever? Hell to the no! But if there's a protective knight in shining armour accompanying me and there's a chance the both of us can escape, then maybe. Keyword: maybe. So that's what happens. You get Garry, a guy who is 18 and honestly too old for a young girl like Ib, so I'd say he cares for her like a brother instead of a potential lover. So you go through all this stuff and whatever you do affects your ending with Garry. You want to save him, don't you? But what happens if your beloved brother dies in the process, leaving you all alone? Garry has a rose too, a blue rose, and he'll die if his rose reaches zero. And then there's a girl called Mary. A sweet, childish blonde girl who also has a rose, this time yellow, and she meets you. She's just like a sister. So here's what happens. You find out that Mary isn't actually a human. Unlike Garry who is a human being sucked into the dark world, Mary is a girl come alive from a painting. In the dark world, paintings and even mannequins come alive, so it's no doubt that Mary was able to get out. In truth, she is a lonely girl who likes visitors, but wishes much to become a real girl and be loved. Garry was the one who tells you that Mary is a painting and from that point, you are at a crossroad. Will you choose Mary or Garry?

There are several endings. One is that you've chosen Mary, though indirectly. Mary manages to get hold of Ib's rose and Garry, being the knight in shining armour and big brother figure, decides to trade his rose for Ib's rose. Thus, Mary runs of with Garry's rose. Knowing that only 2 people can get out of the dark world, Mary decides to kill of Garry by plucking out the petals of his rose. Garry becomes weak in the process and almost collapses before assuring Ib that he will catch up with her after telling her to move on first. You manage to find the large mural again, and this time, the mural depicts the museum from the real world. You jump into the mural and is transported back to the real world. Mary tags along and when you wake up, you find out that Mary has become your sister. You had no memory of what happened in the dark world and it is questionable whether Mary remembers. After all, it was her plot to go to the real world... What happens to Garry? Well, he's trapped there in the dark world... forever.

Another one is that you have chosen neither. Garry dies, just like the previous ending, but Mary also dies. Just like I have said, Mary is a painting and she dies because you decided to burn down her painting. She disappears and you found the mural and was transported back to the real world. You had no memory of what happened. As you exit the museum after reuniting with your parents, you noticed a painting. It depicted a sleeping Garry (presumably dead) and the name of the painting is "Forgotten protrait". Hmm.. well yeah...

Well, if you choose Garry, then you can have the normal ending or the Happy ending. The normal ending is when Garry doesn't die because of Mary and you both burn down Mary's paining. Both of you jump into the mural and get back to the real world. One difference is that after burning the painting, if you're close enough to Garry, Ib will have the option to offer Garry a handkerchief since he was injured by the shattered glass. If Ib gave the handkerchief, then in the real world, Ib will find Garry looking at an exhibition and they will converse. He seems unable to remember anything that has happened in the dark world, but he finds Ib's handkerchief and has a flashback of their time together. They remember each other and there will be a "Promise of Reunion". If they are not close enough,  Ib will not be able to offer the handkerchief and although they get back into the real world, it seems neither remembers each other and neither meets each other again.

There will be an ending that you get stuck in the dark world forever too, this time, definitely alone. You might have burned Mary's painting and Garry's alive, but Garry jumps into the painting first and Ib sees illusions of her mother and Garry (not inside mural). If Ib doesn't jump into the mural and choose to go with the mother or "Garry", she will be trapped in the dark world.

.
.
.
.

This game has left me utterly speechless, really. I can't believe such a game has such an effect on me. It feels like a psychological thing, to have to make a decision whether to choose Mary or Garry. Initially, I didn't really like Mary because I thought of her as a selfish bitch. But really, she was just lonely. Imagine having a soul and being trapped there for so long... Besides, you can't have both of them too. It's either Garry or Mary. I personally think that the relationship between Garry and Ib is the cutest thing ever. It's almost like having someone to share your fear during the game. Although Garry is not real, he kinda provides you this comfort that you are not alone. I don't know how to put things in words, but it's just that this game makes you feel so bad. Of course, you'll curse yourself if you get the ending where Ib's all alone in the dark world, but saving one means abandoning the other. You save Mary and Garry dies. You save Garry and Mary has to go. You save nobody but yourself and you end up feeling devastated upon seeing the "Forgotten Portrait". Life's not fair, but at least this RPG had a good plot and characterisation. They also offered a Happy ending between Ib and Garry. Logically, that's how it should be, because Garry belongs in this world, not Mary. I really loved the game. It's dark, but beautiful, and the soundtracks are beautiful too. Playing the game and reaching the credits really feels like eating bittersweet chocolate. It's so beautiful but you can't help hope for a better ending though the sadness and melancholy is the source of its unique beauty. You wish to relieve all your good times while playing the game, although there are times when the jump scares scares the shit out of you. It's also like finishing a good romance book. If you don't know how that feels like, get your ass to the library and do some soul-searching, the book style. :)

That's all for part 1 of this Marathon post. Will post some pictures below: (click to enlarge)

This is a rather carefree picture of our trio. The blondie's Mary, the dude's Garry and Ib's the brown-haired heroine. Do you see the mannequin heads, bodies and paintings? They were the things that came alive and started chasing you around during the game. Amazing fanart, BTW

This echoes what I'm feeling right now... j.j

My thoughts exactly.

Totally hit the nail on the head.

Ahaha epic picture XD

"Promise of Reunion"

Anyways, I shall retire for the day now. I wanna do the other RPGs soon too.

Silver Wings Course

Hey Hey <3

Umm... IDK why, I just can't think of anything funny, unlike Holly. She posts such random stuff and such random memes and it makes it overall funny. But I can't do it.... :( I only post boring stuff about my life. :O Why isn't my life like a drama????

Anyway, on Monday (hmm... today's Thursday? I don't know...) and Tuesday, our CCA batch had a Silver Wings Course. Basically its a course which teaches us about the RSAF, Republic of Singapore Air Force, since we are NCC Air~

It was like 2 days of lecture, but it wasn't that boring. They taught us about the history of RSAF, which I quite like because I like things regarding history, literature etc. Then they taught us about the different aircraft and planes that the RSAF used, the different vocations in the RSAF, OOTW etc. There wasn't anything particularly interesting. We spent most of our time chatting in between lectures and taking down notes and listening to Holly talk about inappropriate stuff. Too bad if you haven't found Holly's blog, but if you read it, you'd know she isn't as innocent as she is in school... She'd talk about guys like any other girl would, but I tell you, she keeps naming guys whom she thinks are cute, but not as much to me. I mean, guys like Chace Crawford are pretty cute, but Channing Tatum? I'm not saying he's ugly or anything but Holly thinks he is easy on the eyes. What about Zac Efron? She thinks he's fairly cute, I think he's okay. Maybe it's just me, lol.

Holly was speaking about random stuff that made me and Jomma (LOL remember Jomma? J+Momma)  feel so awkward and embarrassed around her. Haizzz, Holly, please practice self control... I don't even wanna talk about what she said... Anyway, we were making plans to have a batch outing, LOL, but we still don't know when and where we can do it. LOL puh-lease it's the June holidays here in Singapore and we can basically go out even on the weekdays when there isn't school, so I don't even wanna know why some of us wanted to go for batch outing only near the end of holidays. :( I want to go for batch outing soon! Okay, I'll post a discussion on our facebook page soon.. We were planning on baking macaroons~~~ Pink ones to be exact because PINK macaroons are the best!!! I wonder if Jomma will mind, lol, since she is so health conscious, just like my Mummy. :D The macaroon biscuits are gonna be sweet and the filling... I was thinking of raspberry buttercream... The colour scheme kinda reminds me of my blog, doesn't it?

Macaroons~~~~ I wonder if it will be a success? I found a Youtube video on the tutorial. Here it is:

Doesn't it look good? Holly look here!!!
I wonder where we can purchase almond flour...

Anyway, back to the Silver Wings course. As you probably know, the course is 2 days long. On the first day, it was kinda short since the remaining of the time, we went to the Air Force Museum!! It was pretty cool, but kinda sad because we stupid girls didn't discover the route to the 2nd floor gallery until we had like, only 15 minutes left? It was dumb because some of us wasted 5 minutes hesitating whether we could go up on the second floor. LOL we only made up our mind to go up when we saw other Air people exiting. We walked around with Holly taking random pictures and cooing, "So coool~~ I wanna take picture!" Basically, the Air Force Museum is where we took our first batch picture!! Kaylisson posted it on Facebook. I looked totally awkward. Haha, we kinda decided to bond more with Kaylisson, and I think that Kaylisson is closer to us now, somehow. If not, I sure do hope she gets closer to us. Anyway here it is:

Hehe, I'll never show my face.

Haha, I sure hope I trolled you. :P
Anyway, we had an overall test on the second day. IT wasn't too hard, but I can't say I'm too confident about the section on vocations. Anyway, the lecture was pretty confusing as in the roles are somehow mixed, like the one handling the weapons wasn't the weapons officer or something. Hmmm....

LOL, I decided to update cause I had nothing in particular to do and therefore decided I should pen this experience down so that I can reminisce about it sometime later. :P

Anyway, I hope I can pass the test and get my Silver Wings badge!!!

Oh yes, I'm in love with these songs and have been listening to them again and again, hopefully I don't get too bored with them. The songs are Heart Attack by Demi Lovato and a Japanese song called The Lost One's Weeping ( ロストワンの号哭)ver. Dasoku. I really like this girl's English cover too.

This girl's voice is so awesome! Such a wonderful song too!! But I felt she should have more control too. :) Good Job!!

This is Dasoku's version. <33 Yay Dasoku! I love his vibrato and lazy sounding voice and the way guys try to hit the high notes.

This is the original song sung by a Vocaloid called Rin. OMG dont' get me started on Vocaloids! I can dedicate one blog post just for them. And yes, it is an artificial voice, but the writers of the song put in a lot of effort, okay? I bet she sings better than most of the artists we find today.

Last but not least, Demi Lovato!!! Her singing is so passionate!!

Byes for now!!

Universal Studios Singapore

<3 <3 <3 <3 <3
ChocoLand~~~
<3 <3 <3 <3 <3

I went to Universal Studios Singapore last week~ (Haha, yeah last week, but only a post this week.) I went for a second time since 2 years ago. I tell ya, it was damn fulfilling for me. I attempted all the scary rides. :P

Anyway, we woke up super early, like 7am on a Sunday morning? We went to pick up my uncle and 7-year-old cousin (we had 6 tickets) and we ate breakfast. I didn't eat a lot because I wasn't exactly hungry. We ate kuay chap. The kuay chap uncle gave us so much it was as if he couldn't finish selling them. Anyway, we set off and arrived at USS quite early, but still not early as some other kiasu people. Anyway, the first thing I did was run and grab the map, lol.

The first ride we took was the Transformers. My cousin wanted to go on that new ride and we were like, okay whatever. There was like this long line of people wanting to go on it, and honestly speaking, it didn't look that bad and I didn't mind waiting. However, there was this announcement: Dear recruits, in order to make your journey to evacuate the allspark, there will be a minor delay. Thank you for volunteering on this mission. So we were all like: ughhhhh =.= and my cousin was like, "Jie Jie what happen?"

Me: "There will be a delay."
Cousin: "Huh?"
Me: "There will be a delay."
Cousin: "What is a delay? ._."
Me: "Uhm... Aiya, means you have to wait."
Cousin: "TnT Wait how long?"
Me: "I dunno."

Anyway, we managed to get on the ride and IT. WAS. AWESOME! You have to put on this 3D glasses and you basically get into this 'car' and the car will move around, like shake (not so violently) and it feels like you're travelling around in Evac, (well, technically, you are travelling in Evac) dodging attacks and ramming through office buildings and falling and being saved by Bumblebee~ <3 Anyway it was like an adventure and you're flying in midair. The car will move around, like lift itself and when you focus on the big 3D screen thinghy, you will feel like you're actually feeling the real thing. Like, when glass shards are thrown at you, you actually have the instinct to cover your face and when there was this fireball aimed at us, I felt like dodging it and there was this huge gust of hot air blowing at us it felt so REAL.

This^
Is what I'm talking about.

Anyway, can't remember what we went on next. =.= I think we went for this live performance. It was bloody irritating. We went there, and since it was a water show, we picked our seat (the safe zone to avoid getting splashed by water) and there was this bunch of guys playing around spraying the crowd in the wet zone with water. LOL I still remember the announcement saying:

Good afternoon visitors, welcome to the Water Show! Please find your seats. For visitors sitting in the wet zone, you WILL get wet, and possibly soaked and visitors sitting in the splash zone will be getting a little wet. Therefore, please sit according to your preference. We will be starting shortly. Thank you.

Anyways, it was this cute little show and (hint: competition) going on and if you wanna find our more, go to USS now. Lol Singapore tourism propaganda. Anyway, the show was bloody awesome. Lots of special effects, though they can be quite loud at times.

BUT, when we went there, they sky started to look real bad and they made an announcement like "Sorry, due to inclement weather, we are unable to estimate when the show will go on. However, if there is any further improvement, we will inform you. Sorry for the inconvenience caused." But you know what? My family was like, screw it! WE. SHALL. WAIT~! So we waited for like 30 minutes in the amphitheatre. Then there was this guy who came up to us and said there was another show at 3pm. So we left.

Anyway the weather was damn bad. All the outdoor rides were halted temporarily. So we went to seek refuge in a pizza parlour and we ate. Then the weather became good. Anyway, if you're wondering why I knew the show was nice, I'll tell you later, lol.

Aaaaaanyway, after eating we walked around as there was some time before it was 3. So we went on this super super fun ride called the Accelerator. (Note the sarcasm). We spun round and round and round and honestly I wasn't really dizzy. The ride was simply not challenging enough. My cousin wanted to go on it so I kinda had to since my uncle did not want to. LOL he got super dizzy the last time he rode that. Anyway, we were the last vehicle (LOL?) to stop spinning as my cousin wouldn't stop spinning the centre thing that makes the overall vehicle spin. HAHA the control people and to activate the brakes. :P

This^
Looks challenging and fun, right? Nah. ;v;

Anyway, after that, we went to see the show at the Lost World. Anyway, the sky looked kinda good, you know? So we entered and sat at the same spot, lol. Andddd we waited. You'd think we watched it this time, huh? The answer is no.

No.

No.

No.

FREAKING NO! BLOODY ASSHOLES UP THERE, WHAT THE HELL YA' THINK YA' DOIN', HUH?

Anyway, we waited for half an hour again. LOL. And then we left and went to the indoor rides, one of them being Shrek's 3D Adventure. It was cute, really, but I watched it like 3 times? LOL I anticipated the part when Shrek threw a bunch of spiders at our feet and there were things down the seats which sprung up and scared the shit out of everyone, except me. :) I lifted my legs lol.

The weather was well again and I went out and tackled the Battlestar Galactica! I went on Cylon, you know. The scarier one. :) It was so fun! *Squeals* Basically, like any other roller coasters, you ascend, but this one ascends slowly and suddenly picks up speed and then you whoosh down. When whooshing down, or like one second before you whoosh down, you better take a deep breath. Cause you can't freaking breathe when you actually whoosh down. I learnt it the hard way. :( I wanted the scream, but I couldn't. I don't even know how the other people manage to scream. I open my mouth and there was the huge gust of air coming at your face and since I couldn't scream, I figured I could just breathe, but no. I couldn't breathe and when we finished whooshing down, I thought I could take a breath, which I did, but suddenly you are going through corkscrews and 360 deg. turns like 5 times? You feel like you're gonna fall off your seat and it doesn't help that your feet are dangling in the air?! But it was so fun. You know, when it's gonna be your turn on the roller coaster, you feel so damn nervous? And then you see the people getting on and they're so nervous and some people are like praying or closing their eyes and breathing really hard. Then they shoot off and within a minute, they are back going like WOOHOO AWW YEAH! For me, it was like, OMG I'm regretting coming on this thing. And when the ride finishes, I feel so wasted and just laughing there like, OMG I can't believe I been through that.

Haha LOL. Then we went for some pathetic parade, like, it really was bad. Like nothing flamboyant, nothing too special, except for the random vehicles which spray water at you. LOL and the random parade people especially those who are part of the Ancient Egypt gang and they jump at you and scare you, lol. After it, we practically rushed to the watch the show. Which fortunately did go on. YAY!

After that, we only had time to go for one last ride since it was close to 7pm. My father and I went on the Human coaster since we thought it would not be complete if we didn't go on the Human coaster after going on Cylon. So we went and it was not as exciting as Cylon but nevertheless a good experience. LOL. My brother and cousin suddenly said they want to go on The Revenge of the Mummy. I was surprised, since my mother wanted to go on it too. LOL She never went on any roller coasters before. My cousin chickened out before and didn't want to go on it because he though it was scary and even though I said it wasn't scary (LOL I went on it before Hihihihihihihi), he didn't believe me. But we were too late. BooHoo~ Too bad. My parents said when my cousins from Malaysia come over, my brother and I will be going back again. YAY! Totally looking forward to going there a third time.

Booyeah! Cyon!

Anyways, something random for you guys. LOL

I opened a bad of potato chips and this is what I see.

Yeah JACK N JILL, you tell me!

Byes, lol this is a super long post. Gonna check out Holly's blog now. :P

ATC

Hey Chocoland~

I'm back again, more alive this time. OMG I just realised the last time I updated was on 7th May. That was like... OMFG 2 weeks ago? I just peeked at Holly's blog and it seems that girl has been on the ball quite frequently. Lol, although her posts are usually rants (Yes, Holly, I have been reading your blog) but they're so funny. Way to rock the GIFs, girl. ;) To anyone (Yes I hope someone reads my blog), try and find Holly's blog.

Ahhh this past few weeks have been quite hectic. All the assignments and tasks are going to be due next week and eeee~ I haven't started on a freaking one. Haizz... I'm screwed. Besides, I had another camp, this time in school for 2 days and 1 night. Can you believe it? We were only released at 8pm on Saturday. My mommy and my big bro came over to Orchard to accompany me home since it was so late at night and mommy was concerned about my safety. Maybe she's worried about me getting raped or something... Hmmm... Anyways, it was sibei gan dong, okay?

Urgghhh! Freaking annoying shit. This stupid Google thinghy keeps popping up and asking me to log in again cause it seems that I "have logged out of another location". Da shit?  LOG OUT SIMI SAI LAHH! I was typing all along, expect me how to log out? Dumb Google Blogger... =.=

Asshole Google... =.=

Anyways, I wanna talk about the camp. It was an overnight camp and I tell you, sleeping on the floor is not fun! Especially, when your sleeping bag is not even that well cushioned, and you're sleeping beside someone like Holly. HOLLY ARRR, I NEVER TELL IN SCHOOL CAUSE I DON'T WANT TO EMBARRASS YOU BUT WHY U NO STOP KICKING ME?! >:(

No, Holly,  just no.

Anyways, the camp was not as hard as I imagined it to be. Sure, I wasn't looking forward to any part of it, but the bunk cleaning wasn't that bad. Hah Hah, all because I'm not the bunk IC. But then again, it might not be that scary, because the seniors didn't exactly scream like there's no tomorrow at us. I mean, standing outside and trying to stay still and not fidget was tiring, but I'm sure I'm not tired to the point that I can't hear when they shout. They just didn't shout as much as last year. Considering they are a different batch of seniors, they might be launching a different attack at us. Haha. Lol. The trick was to speak softly so that the Bunk IC would be like, OMG I can't hear her when she speaks so softly, therefore, I must pay attention. And then they say things like, "We are scolding for your own good... We don't want you all to sleep in a dirty bunk etc. etc." As wretched as it sounds, it worked, at least on our Bunk IC... Poor Jomma (Haha. J + Momma) <-- All because Jomma acts like our mom. :)

Anyway, the lineup of the activities were like: First, fall in in the usual fall-in area, report to seniors, uniform check etc. Then after like 45 minutes of standing there and stoning, we went to place our bags in our bunks. OK I swear I learnt another lesson. Last year, I brought too many bags. This year, I brought too little bags (like 1 hugeeee one?) and the only bag I carried ended up being to heavy for me. =.= Next year, I vow to carry one hand-carry bag and one backpack.

Then, we had field cooking. Field cooking was surprisingly laid-back, like always. All we do is sit there and figure how to light up the solid fuel. It's not easy, okay? I lost count of how many matches I stroke which went off way too early. I don't understand!! (Cue: I don't understand song and dance) Isn't  combustion possible because of the OXYGEN in the air? If so, match, Y U GO OFF SO QUICKLY? Haizz, anyway we managed to light up one solid fuel from scratch. The other one borrowed the spark from the first solid fuel. Yay. Then we makan!! I wasn't hungry... The Part A beside me didn't look hungry too and in the end we finished eating really quickly. We had instant noodles and canned mushrooms and sardines. Eww sardines... I didn't eat any sardine, but unfortunately, I dropped one mushroom... :( Poor mushroom, rolling on the ground, no longer edible. Haha, anyway, since we were field cooking and the food was to be divided, I asked if anyone was saliva conscious.

Me: Nobody's saliva conscious here, right?
Part A: ._. Ummm.... Can I take first, then?
Me: *thinking* Girl, you can't afford to be salive conscious in NCC! Damn! I mean, I WAS saliva conscious, but I got over it. Heh.

Anyway, the Part D was like, "Hey you two are not eating a lot (me and Part A). Do you want some more?
Part A: *shakes head*
Me: No.
Part D: You sure? *suspicious look*
Me: No.
Part D: Okay. ._. You guys should eat more. You're eating too little, that's why you're so tiny.
Me:

Part D: Don't look so offended...

Hahah totally random moment. I bet she was scared of meh.

Anyways, we moved on to bunk cleaning next. Bunk cleaning was a CHORE. An IMPOSSIBLE chore, and man I can't emphasise how impossible it is. Firstly, we had to put the extra tables and chairs (meaning the number of tables and chairs exceeding 30) in the classroom below ours. Stupiak! Will it kill you to sleep with more tables? No! Then, we had to clean the fans, the windows, everywhere, in like 20 minutes? Let's just say we don't have a lot of people. =.= Bloody freaking torture moment. The dust keeps coming back. To cut the long story short, we got scolded a lot, well, the Bunk IC did... But anyway, we were sent to pumping position... All of it started when:

<outside bunk>
We were falling in and listening to the minimal times the Bunk IC was screamed at. Suddenly, a bang on the table was heard. The Mam'n comes out.

Mam'n: Your Bunk IC is on pumping position now. What should you do?
Holly: Permission to join Bunk IC, Mam'n!
Mam'n: Carry on.

Basically, it was a series of blunders and wrong moves in the bunk. I stumbled on my words and even asked the wrong person! =.= In the end, we did like 12 pushups. Haha I didn't do properly, but at least I attempted to go as low as possible. :D

After bunk cleaning, we went for a toilet break and we were worried about Jomma cause she was crying, but she explained to us it was because their soft and meaningful words made her feel guilty. Yes, Jomma was the Bunk IC, lol. Anyway, we went to shower and it was so relaxing. The bathrooms in our school had sensor-lights and if they don't detect any motion for like, 5 minutes, they would automatically turn of. Jomma, being the most efficient of all of us, even in showering, was finishing up when I was only washing my hair. WTF? Then the lights went of, and just as planned, somebody suggested we should start singing. Haha. My bunch of friends, even Jomma were afraid of the dark and we planned to sing if the lights went off, but unfortunately haven't decided on a song yet. Lol. Jomma finished and went out and exclaimed, "Let there be light!!" and lights flooded the room. Haha.

Anyway, we couldn't sleep just yet. Our seniors wanted to explain something about orienteering to us. We didn't quite understand at first, but thankfully, everything was clear at the end of the day. That night, we slept at 11pm. All the time before 11pm and after the seniors finished teaching us orienteering was spent revising for the tests the next day. I could sense I was screwed as I didn't revise my stuff beforehand, unlike last year. I was kinda at a loss as I didn't bring my full notes. I had to borrow from my platoonmates but they were revising too... So...

The next day, we had PT first thing in the morning. Thank goodness we only ran like 2 rounds? It was due to the fact that the Part Cs arrived later and therefore we were delayed. PT was alright. It was supposed to give us an appetite but I didn't feel that hungry. I ate one slice of bread with Nutella. Me, being a genius, opened the seal so perfectly. But what I saw inside wasn't perfect. Apparently, the oil separated from the Nutella. Talk about bad emulsifier. :D My part took a bloody long time to use the spread. I was the last, kay? Before I even spread the Nutella, the Part D seniors came over and asked if they could have the spread, but then they saw that I haven't finished spreading, so they were like, "Hurry up, hurry up! >:(" Being the nice person I am, I spread it quickly and even brought the spread over to the Part D's table. Sergeant Major was like, "Thank you!" *smiles, and says thank you in a sweet voice* I nearly forgot she was scary for a moment there.

Anyway, we had our drills test next. Drills test was alright, nothing too difficult. Considering we had a small number of people, the test did not take a long time, but they allowed everyone around 15 minutes to be the timer, and everyone a chance to be IC. It was basically like normal training. Our part could do it quite well. To me, if you take normal training seriously, you'll find that the test is actually very similar to normal trainings.

Next, we settled at the canteen for 50 minutes of revision time for IFC practical. IFC was horrible!! I couldn't remember some things and due to that, it was a series of awkward silences between me and staff and sergeant. They were like, "Can you remember the 7 factors of ..." And I was like, " ._. Umm... <awkward silence> I think.... <Another awkward silence>" After like 3 minutes, staff was like,  "Okay okay, forget about that question. You did okay." And from there, I knew I was quite doomed. The rest was okay, until I forgot something again... It was basically the theory part. My practical aspect was quite good to me. :D 'A' for good effort!

Next, we had our written tests. They were quite alright. I was really glad that we did not have GNK (General NCC Knowledge). For all I know, I failed that test last year. Lol.

Then, we went for an hour of orienteering. Yay! It was super fun, but super annoying and tiring at the same time. Oh, that feeling of satisfaction when you actually find the sticker you're supposed to find. :D I personally found like 4 of the stickers! One was under a light switch, 1 was on a poster's tiny logo, 1 was on a wall on the furthest end of the school and the last one was under the rock wall. :D Holly was being really encouraging and saying, "You're a genius at finding stuff!" In the end, we didn't find all. The first one which we attempted to find was too difficult to find, so we gave up. Haha. It turns out we are actually quite good. We marked the points of the map really accurately and therefore, we didn't even find any fake ones. The seniors placed several fake stickers but because we were so accurate, we didn't venture to the wrong spot. :) Then, the seniors just had to say something like, "Our school has been getting the Top 3 positions so far in the orienteering competition. Maybe you guys can be the first batch to be the first to finish!" And deep inside, I was just hoping we manage to get into the top 3 so as to maintain the standard our previous seniors set.

Holly thought the same and she told us, "I hope our opponents, the guys especially, are all fat and cannot run!" LOL that was Holly kinda at her best.

Then all the fun ended as we had to do area cleaning. We cleaned the toilets... The toilets which were used for showering... =.= You simply cannot imagine the amount of hair near the drains. We had to ensure that there was no hair and that the sink did not have any stains. Oh gosh, thank goodness we got it really clean on the first try. Yay.

Then we had bunk cleaning again. This time, it wasn't as strict. Basically, we were given 30 minutes to change into our formal uniform and revert the classroom to the way it was before our camp. Huh, if we were to revert it to the condition it was before we used it, I would have brought all the dust (if I could) and scatter it around the classroom. HMPH! Also, all the tables had to be carried back up. Thankfully, the classroom in which we put the tables and chairs were locked, so we need not carry them back up. :P Haha in your face, ATC! Once again, Part Bs for the win! We cleaned the classroom well enough.

Finally, nearing the end of camp, we had photo taking. Our part was really really sad. We had so little people that we didn't even look like a platoon. Anyway, we had a short AAR session. Seniors talked to us about a lot of things and they even asked questions like: Who's normally the loudest one? We don't really know if it's your default face, but you guys seemed quite dejected and demoralised when we scolded you guys.

Haha. The seniors described us like we were animals. Jomma is a cat, Holly, I dunno. DeeDee's a dinosaur and me... Ugh they didn't say anything. Hng! Anyway, dinner time was after the short AAR session. But I think it wasn't really necessary. I mean, wouldn't it be better if they released us early so that we can go eat dinner ourselves? With our family? At ease? Without having to gather by decided time? Haizz... Anyway, we went home after that. LOL So anticlimatic.

I went back to my classroom to sort out my bag and pack it nicely. Apparently, my brother and my mother were already there. They helped my carry my bags and we took transport home together. So touching. *sniff sniff* But they were irritated lol. They said that the bus came 4 times, but they were all full. My mom managed to squeeze in on the 4th bus while my brother, the 5th. It was really absurd, really. The bus my brother got on was so empty that you could run in it and not hit anything, or anyone, while the 4th bus was crowded and my mother even got a minor scrape from the bus door. =.= Stupid bus.

Ahh, that would be the end of my super long post. Uhh, I haven't added much GIFs here, but I shall find some time soon to do that.

Bye ChocoLand!

GIF-hunting

Heyyy~

Today, I spent my time going through tumblr posts and downloading funny gifs. I'm saving some for the future when I post something and want to add gifs to it. Inspiration from Holly. Thanks~~

Anyway, this one is quite mind-blowing... Like I don't understand how it's freaking possible. >:(

I. Don't. Understand. ._.

Heehee. Holly, you watching this?

Anyway, Holly, here's something I found.
